Why I Chose The Shure MV7+ For The Rebuild Project Podcast

The early days of The Rebuild Project Podcast. Before the studio, the upgrades, and before the cameras - when it was strictly audio, a laptop, the Shure MV7+, and a vision.

When I first decided to launch The Rebuild Project Podcast, I knew I wanted to build something that would last. This wasn’t about throwing together a quick podcast and hoping people listened. It was about creating a place for real conversations, real growth, and real people rebuilding their lives together.

That meant taking my equipment seriously.

Like most creators starting out, I spent countless hours researching microphones. I watched YouTube reviews, compared specs, read articles, and looked at what successful podcasters were using. There were plenty of cheaper options out there, but I kept finding myself drawn back to one microphone: the Shure MV7+.

One of the biggest reasons I chose the MV7+ was its flexibility.

The microphone offers both USB and XLR connectivity. That means I can plug it directly into my computer today and start creating content immediately, while also having the option to upgrade to a more advanced setup in the future without replacing my microphone.

Will a microphone make a podcast successful? Absolutely not.

The content matters.
